Words to the Wise
With all the different types of classes and information available, it’s no wonder some people are confused about the benefits of yoga. Do you do it for peace of mind? Greater flexibility, balance, and strength? The hope of looking good in Lululemon hot pants?
Perhaps your purpose will become clearer after hearing the words of Lama Marut, an internationally renowned instructor of yoga philosophy and president of the board of directors for the respected Yoga Studies Institute.
Lama Marut will give a free public talk, entitled “How Yoga Really Works” at the Canadian Memorial Church and Centre for Peace (1825 W. 16th Ave.), Sept 6, 7-9 pm. Topics covered will include the purpose of yoga beyond the physical body, aspects of compassion, and the development of the wise mind.
